J.R. and Shirley Gould
J.R. and Shirley Gould, presently in their thirty-first (31st) year of Kingdom work, enjoy a rich and diverse ministry. Spending their first 20 ministry years in Tennessee, they served Calvary Temple in Nashville, First Assembly in Jackson, Tennessee and Central Assembly of God in Albuquerque, New Mexico before being appointed to the mission field of East Africa in 1994.
They recently completed their second full term in Kenya, where they served as church planters. Focusing heavily on Good News crusades, over 30 churches were planted in these outdoor meetings.
Primarily focusing on the primitive unreached tribes, J.R. helped to start Kenya's Department of Missions while assisting with the completion of over 110 churches and four Bible Schools. The last term found a new focus, the starting of the Royal Rangers program in Kenya.
Shirley's passion for orphans led her to serve as founder of a cutting-edge home for street children, helping kids abandoned on the streets due to contending challenges of AIDS, cholera, and clan wars. Kenya's Kids Home for Street Children is now staffed and fully functioning with over 90 orphans finding safety, love, and a love for Christ.
J.R. and Shirley continue to serve Africa in their mission assignments, currently emphasizing Special Projects of this great continent. As schedule permits, they enjoy directing Mission Conventions and raising funds for desperate needs such as church planting, Africa's children, traveling to Africa, ever striving to make a difference among those who have not yet heard.
